Welcome to Fishing HotSpots, where the intention of this website is to provide fisherman of all levels of experience detailed information on location HotSpots, general fishing news and information, fishing tips and techniques.
My name is Andrew and have been a very keen angler for the last 28 years, I have a great deal of knowledge and experience for Coarse and Carp fishing (plus general lake management). Game fishing on lakes, dams and river banks. Last, but no least sea angling including, shore, rock and boat fishing.
Living near the sea in Cornwall, in particular Perranporth beach provides an ideal location for beach casting for Bass, whilst Newquay only a 10 minute drive provides a good launch for our boat (20ft Rib) for some deep sea, reef and wreck fishing, where the North coast provides far better untouched fishing than the overfished commercial south coast.
Although we live close to the River Camel and Fowey, my game fishing experience comes from my many holidays in Mid Wales on the River Severn, where I have caught salmon, trout and grayling (a coarse fish I know), using a variety of methods from fly fishing to spinning.
Being fortunate enough to own a few coarse fishing lakes gives me an advantage of testing out new angling techniques and equipment whenever I wish. My favourite species is the mirror carp, but I like catching all other varieties too, including tech, perch and bream.
Having lived in Essex for 6 years, I’m also used to catching a few monsters on Gravel pits too J
I have developed this site with the intention to share useful tips, provide product reviews and general fishing advice.
However the No1 goal is to make this website a knowledge for all fishing venues, hence the name ‘Fishing HotSpots’, which will mean a social interaction with fellow anglers who I hope will also contribute and share their favourite fishing spots, with detailed information including venue directions, fish species to be caught and the best fishing methods to use.
